End Nears For St. Boniface School Building

Hallways that used to be filled with the thumping of hurrying footsteps and the chatter of friends are now filled with the blowing wind that enters through one end of empty window frames and out through the other end. And this too will be coming to an end in the very near future.
According to School Building Committee chair Ben Meis, demolition of the vacant St. Boniface Elementary School building will likely begin next week. “In about one week to ten days we expect demolition to begin,” he said. Rutjens Construction of Tilden will be doing the demolition work. When the work wraps up will depend – depend upon the weather and depend upon getting all the debris hauled away quickly. Two landfills will be receiving the debris. Roofing materials can be accepted at the Butler County Landfill in David City and interior debris will be sent to the Newman Grove Landfill.
