ALBION — The Wolfpack wrestling team competed Saturday at the Boone County Invite.
Just two Wolfpack wrestlers saw action — Geoffrey Carr at 120 pounds and Andrew Fangman at 152.
Fangman was the Wolfpack’s only medal winner, finishing fifth in his weight class.
Individual results were:
120 pounds — Champ. Round 1 – Andrew King (Boone Central/Newman Grove) (18-15) won by fall over Geoffrey Carr (Elgin/Pope John) (7-20) in 27 seconds; Cons. Round 1 – Tyler Miller (Elkhorn Valley) (8-17) won by fall over Geoffrey Carr in 3:36.
152 — Quarterfinal – Morgen Valentine (David City) 12-3 won by a score of nine to two over Andrew Fangman (Elgin/Pope John) 22-9; Cons. Round 3 – Andrew Fangman won five to zero over Noah Rutjens (Elkhorn Valley) 14-6; Consolation semi-finals – Garett Allemang (Neligh/Oakdale) 23-5 won by decision four to one over Fangman; 5th Place Match – Fangman pinned Jonnie Huff (Pierce) 24-5 in 4:40.
