The Wolfpack volleyball team will compete Tuesday night, Nov. 1, in the first round of the C2-8 Volleyball Sub-District at O’Neill High School.
EPPJ (11-16) will play Ord (22-6) at 5 p.m. The winner will advance to the championship match at 7:30 p.m. that night against the winner of Burwell-Atkinson West Holt.
At Monday evening’s Elgin Community Club meeting, businesses agreed to the combined effort to hand out treats to Trick or Treaters this Halloween.
With the holiday landing on a workday, children are invited to visit businesses in the afternoon, especially after school. It will give youngsters a chance to show off their costumes before the sun goes down. Because of the highway, it is suggested that an older, responsible child or an adult accompany youngsters.
Participating business will have the sign (at left) on their doors, inviting you to stop by for treats. Members wanting to hand out treats may pick up their sign at the Elgin Review office during regular business hours. Our offices will be closing at 3 pm on Thursday in order to cover the first round football playoff game.
ELGIN — The Wolfpack volleyball team dropped two matches Tuesday night in a triangular held at Elgin High School.
In the first match against Burwell, the Wolfpack lost in two games by the scores of 14-25 and 24-26.
After dropping the first game, the Wolfpack played much better in game two and appeared on the verge of winning the game. However, Burwell rallied late in the game and won the points they need to claim the match.
