Arts Council to Set to Present ‘Macbeth’

Prepare for eerie prophecies, dark intrigue and bloody deeds as Nebraska Shakespeare performs a 60-minute abridged version of Macbeth to the general public in the Boone Central Gym in Albion on Sunday, October 18th at 7 p.m. A talk-back session will follow the performance, allowing audience members to ask questions of the cast. 

Admission to both performances is $12.50 for adults with Arts Council members admitted free.

St. Boniface Parish is taking orders for their famous Thanksgiving Bazaar whole-hog sausage.  Rings or patties are available in approximate one-pound packages, individually weighed and priced at the $4.00 per pound price. EPS-PJCC Fall Sports Co-op Proposal on Agenda for District #18 School Board

Approval of a fall sports co-op between Elgin Public Schools and Pope John Central Catholic Junior-Senior High School will be on the agenda when the District #18 Board of Education meets Wednesday night (tonight). A co-op currently exists for winter and spring sports between the two schools. That will begin in December when the two schools will join together for sports competition and be known as the Wolfpack.

Action on the fall sports program is likely to take place because the deadline for fall sports co-op, put in place by the Nebraska School Activities Association, is November 1.

Parks, Stoltz Take Top Two Spots in FB Contest

Ed Parks of Elgin is this week’s winner in the Elgin Review Football Contest.

Parks was the only contestant to miss just five games, making him the winner of $25 in Elgin Bucks.

Jack Stoltz and Evan Parks tied for second, each missing six games. Stoltz guessed 599 for combine total yardage between Miami and Oklahoma. Parks guessed 701. The correct answer was 683. Stoltz was the closest without going over and will receive the runner-up prize.
