The Elgin Red Cross Bloodmobile

Date Set For Organic Farm Tour

Learning about crop varieties, weed control, crop rotations, and equipment will be the focus of a tour organic farms. The tour will begin at 10:30 am at the University of Nebraska Agricultural Research and Development Center near Mead on August 20. UNL Extension specialists and local organic crop growers will discuss new research on growing crops organically. Participants will see field demonstrations and view many crops and learn about various crop rotations. There is no cost, but those planning to attend need to call (402) 584-3837 to make reservations for lunch. Ten teams battled hot temperatures Saturday to compete in the Pope John Golf Tournament held at Summerland Golf Course near Ewing.

Bow Hunter Class Set at Clearwater

A bow hunter safety course will be held on Saturday, August 29. The location will be the Clearwater Community Room. The course will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is limited to 15 people. To sign up, call Aaron at 750-1691 or Mark at 340-5042.
