NELIGH — Competing against 10 other teams Monday, Pope John’s golf team again showed their mettle against some of the best teams in the area.
The Crusaders shot a 343 to win the team title. Boone Central was second at 354 followed by Creighton 356, Neligh-Oakdale 366, Atkinson West Holt 381, Pope John JV 423 and O’Neill 435.

O’NEILL — Temperatures were unseasonably warm Thursday as both Pope John and Elgin competed at the St. Mary’s Invitational track meet.
There was good competition in all events. Both Pope John and Elgin athletes brought home gold medals from the invite.

Quentin “Bud” Hoefer, 88, of North Platte passed away April 23, 2009, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, April 27, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in North Platte.
