Elgin Endowment Fund, Matching Funds Until Dec. 31, 2008
December 11, 2008 by lmorgan · Leave a Comment
In an effort to reach the final goal in the Elgin Area Community Foundation fund drive, an anonymous donor will be matching each dollar donated — up to $10,000 — for donations received up to Dec. 31, 2008.
The Hunt Foundation (founding family of Great Plains Communications) has offered towns throughout Nebraska which they serve the opportunity to build a community endowment fund. When all is said and done, when Elgin reaches a total dollar amount of $150,000 in funds from donors, the Hunt Foundation will have added $50,000 to that amount, creating an endowment fund of $200,000. The community is in the final stages of the drive, needing to raise a total of $60,000 before the end of June, 2009 to receive the Foundation’s final installment of $20,000.
