			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p align="justify">Dr. Dale B. Jillson, DVM, 85 of Elgin, NE, passed  away Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at the Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home in  Bellevue, NE.</p>
<p>Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist  Church in Elgin, NE with Reverend Michael Davis officiating. Interment  will follow at West Cedar Valley Cemetery near Elgin with military rites  by American Legion Post #229 and VFW Post #5816 of Elgin. Visitation  will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at Huffman-Levander Funeral Home in Elgin, NE  with a 7:30 p.m. Masonic Rites service by Diamond Lodge #291 A.M. and  F.M.</p>
<p>Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.</p>
<p>Dale Brice Jillson, son of Dr. Paul M. and Juanita (Bartlett) Jillson,  was born August 9, 1927 at Elgin, NE. He attended Elgin Public High  School, lettering in football and basketball, graduating with the class  of 1945. He served his country in the Army Air Corps before attending  college at University of Nebraska and graduating from Iowa State in 1953  with a degree in Veterinary Science.</p>
<p>Dale married Virginia Taylor on September 11, 1955 in Harlan, IA.  After a few years living in Neligh, NE, they moved in 1961 to his home  community of Elgin.  He served his community as a veterinarian for 43  years before retiring in 1997. He considered himself a lifelong resident  of Elgin.</p>
<p>In the early years he served as a school board member and assisted  with community celebrations.  He also contributed as a volunteer fire  fighter and chaired the Ice Cream Social for many years.  A member of  the United Methodist Church, he served on various committees throughout  the years. He was a longtime member of the Masonic Diamond Lodge #291  A.M. and F.M. He was an avid sports enthusiast following Elgin and  Nebraska sports.   Dale was a devoted husband  and father.</p>
<p>He is survived by four daughters: Kathryn Jillson and husband Steve  Cook of Strongsville, OH; Kristine Boyer and husband Ray of Salina, KS;  Elizabeth Jillson-Clark and husband Roger of Lincoln, NE; Mary Jillson  and husband James Heesacker of LaVista, NE; eight grandchildren; one  great-grandson; two brothers-in-law: K.D. Bennett of Elgin, NE and  Dwight (Darlene) Taylor of St. Charles, MO; two sisters-in-law: Lucille  Jillson of Lincoln, NE and Shari Jillson of Des Moines, IA; along with  nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.</p>
<p>Dale was preceded in death by his parents; wife Virginia in 2004;  three brothers: Ted, Paul and Gene; and one sister Jerrene Bennett.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Nate Rogers of South Sioux City caught  two touchdowns passes to help lead the Red Team past the White Team 20-10 Saturday night in the first-ever Northeast Nebraska All-Star Football Classic.<br />
Saturday night’s game, played at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Norfolk, drew 2,249 spectators.<br />
Rogers was on the receiving end of a 68-yard touchdown strike from high school teammate Scott Manley in the second quarter. He then caught a 12-yard scoring pass from Norfolk Catholic’s Jordan Bellar.<br />
In all, Rogers caught five passes for 97 yards. He was named Most Valuable Offensive Player of the game for the Red Team.<br />
On the defensive end, Riley Knake helped lead the Red Team with nine tackles, including one for a loss. He was named the Red Team’s Most Valuable Defensive Player of the game.<br />
Elgin Public-Pope John standout signal-caller Ross Schindler put a spark into the White Team’s offense in the second half with his playmaking ability. He was one of three Wolfpack players to play in the game, the other two were Blake Anderson and Andrew Heithoff. Anderson carried the ball three times for six yards. Heithoff saw action at linebacker on defense.<br />
For the White Team, Travis Wright of Battle Creek rushed for 127 yards on 30 carries. He scored the White Team’s lone touchdown from three yards out.</p>
