4-H Archery Club Competes at State Tourney

The Antelope County 4-H Archery Club recently participated in the State 4H Indoor Archery Tournament held at the Ag Park in Columbus on January 27.

Students shoot twelve rounds consisting of 5 arrows for a total of 60 arrows. Each arrow is scored on a target with a possible score of 0 to 5 for each arrow.

Coach Mark Eggers stated, “Congratulations to all the Antelope Archery shooters. We had numerous class winners and medalists in Columbus. We also had quite a few shoot personal high scores. The archers hard work and practice paid off.”

Elgin area 4-Hers competed in the following categories:

Female Cub Freestyle: Marie Meis, purple; Allyson Selting, blue ;

Male Youth Freestyle: Chad Bode, purple; Kalin Henn, blue;

Female Youth Freestyle: Morgan Carpenter, 3rd place purple, Elizabeth Selting, purple, Erin Beckman, blue;

Male Young Adult Freestyle: Jon Meis, purple.
